I have been working to see if I could get QF to work with over 400 classifications and every time QF boots up, it changes the DocumentClass ID on 255 and higher to just 255. I go into and change it back to sequential numbers and QF just changes it back. Can anyone confirm or deny that QF 10 will have the ability to run more than the 255 classifications?

Hi Lucas,
Previously on answers, there was a pretty good discussion on the QF Classification limitations. It seems like 255 is the hard limit for classifications and it is likely to be the case with QF 10.
I just don't understand why we cant get more. So many of my customers use it for AP/AR and it wont be unusually for a large company to have more than 255 vendors. Its just software. Just code it differently. Performance is not an issue because they will run it during off hours. I just feel like its possible to do and don't understand why LF developers wont try.
Hi Lucas,
The behavior you're seeing with more than 255 document classes is in fact a bug. Unfortunately, just fixing this bug alone isn't as trivial as it may seem, and wouldn't solve the problem for many users, who would be unsatisfied with the resulting performance and would thus prefer to use one of the workarounds anyway. That's why the fix won't make it into Quick Fields 10.
However, I definitely hear you that this is a common desired use case, and we're eager to make it easier for you. In fact, for versions past 10, we're actively working on a more comprehensive solution to these sorts of complex AP/AR processing scenarios that would be more straightforward to configure and would alleviate some of the current limitations related to putting large numbers of document classes in a single session.
I forgot about this post. lol. Thanks for the help Tessa.
