I am using WebDAV to pull PDF's to an Incoming Documents folder that WF monitors for PDF's to run. I followed the WebDAV configuration in the LF adminisration guide. The mapped drive is \\laserfiche\DavWWWRoot. The server is 2008 R2, WebDAV is installed and I setup Authorizing Rules for All content, All users, permissions to Read, Source, and Write. Workflow will not kick off as it does not see the document as a PDF - the activity error message is 'The entry was not a PDF. PDF activities will only run if the entry is a PDF'. Looking at the properties- the extension is PDF but the type is empty. The PDF is saved with the extension .pdf. I've changed the WebDAV setting default MIME Type to application/pdf and the Type on the file is still empty when putting the PDF in. Any suggestions on how to get the MIME type to populate?

Hello all,
A case has been opened with Laserfiche Support. The thread will be updated when we have more information.
Cheers
Hi all,
It turns out that using WebDAV the MIME type can be returned as blank in some cases. When this happens, a property in Repository Access which indicates whether this is an electronic document returns as false. Thus Workflow cannot recognize it as an electronic document. SCR 145618 was filed to improve the handling in Repository Access when the MIME type is null.
Import Agent is a natural workaround to avoid using WebDAV altogether; if one has not purchased Import Agent, of note is the fact that exporting these files in briefcases and re-importing does not result in a blank MIME type and it is handled as expected in Workflow. Others can chime in if they can think of good workarounds until the fix.
Thanks Linda and Margaret for bringing this to our attention!
This issue has been fixed for Laserfiche 10.2.
I am having the same issue as Linda described: Enabled WebDAV, and mapped a drive letter to \\laserfiche\DavWWWRoot, but the Workflow will not kick off after a PDF file is dropped into a folder, although it has been proved that Workflow is working when I imported the PDF file through client to the same folder. Would someone help to get this working?
The error comes from the 3rd party library we use in Workflow and it's about not being able to open the PDF. It shouldn't have to anything to do with the MIME type being set. Could you have your reseller open a case with Tech Support and attached a briefcase with a sample PDF, please?
I will contact our VAR guy. Thank you, Miruna, for your prompt support!
Hi Miruna,
Actually I think this has to do with the MIME type because when I add the same file using the LF Client, the type is set properly (on the left, pdf added through WebDAV, on the right the same file dragged into the LF Client):
I will open a case with support on this though. Thanks Miruna!
Hello, they know if they managed to solve the case, I'm with version 10.3 of Laserfiche and I present the same problem.
