Question

License Count Mismatch

asked on May 13, 2016

I'm running Directory Server 10.0.0.196.  I have 34 full user licenses for my Laserfiche install.   On the Directory Server Overview screen I see 34 in use and zero available.  When I go under accounts and look at the user list or export the user list to CSV I see only 32 "Full licenses" in use.  Where is this discrepancy coming from?  I also have 100 Forms Participant licenses if that makes any difference.  Thanks for any insight that anyone can provide.

Hi Rob,

Do you have any devices that you've assigned a named license to? Do you have any organizations configured that may have named licenses assigned? Lastly, how about any Laserfiche Server application instances that may have repository named users assigned? I'd check those three things and see if that accounts for the other two licenses in use.

For future reference, you can generate a report of where licenses are assigned (named users, devices, applications) under Accounts > Organizations:

You can use this button even if you have not created any organizations. We'll see if we can find a better location for the button.

Also note that you should be able to see any resources allocated to Laserfiche Servers by selecting Laserfiche Server from the application list:

Thanks Alexander.  I found the licenses associated with a development server that we have (Directory Server...Applications...Laserfiche Server...select server...Edit...Advanced Options...Repository Named Users...Full repository named user...assign count.  Pretty buried to find.

One of the licenses that I had assigned was being used for Workflow in the Default Connection Profile (Common Profiles).  Is there a way to have a common Workflow profile that doesn't tie up a Full User license?

The user that's configured in the Workflow Connection Profile doesn't need to have a named license associated with it. See this page for more information.
