Does Import Agent OCR documents?

Hi there,

I read through the help files and noticed that the Import Agent requires you to configure the DCC to OCR documents. Is this a new feature? Or is it to be set up when you want to include additional options when you OCR?

The help files do seem to indicate that the DCC is required, but would like some clarification.

Import Agent 9 supports the XML list file format that allows OCR to be done on imported image pages. You can refer to the examples found in The Import Agent installation directory's "List File Examples" subfolder.

Import Agent 9 does not require DCC. You can still OCR locally or you can choose to configure Import Agent to use DCC.

We are using LST files to import TIFF images to Laserfiche.

The profile has "OCR image files" checked off, however, it does not OCR the documents.

Even though these documents are getting created from the LST file, should it still run through the OCR locally? May the DCC need to be implemented?

Ok. So it only works for XML list file formats, not LST list file formats. Thanks for the update.

Hi Mason,

In general, LST is still supported for legacy integrations, but it's not receiving new functionality. I'd generally recommend switching over to the XML format as avaliable.
