Can't login using mobile 10 - Network error

asked on May 6, 2016 Show version history

Can't seem to get in using mobile 10. This is an iOS device. doesn't seem to want to recognize the cert? Tried every variation we could think of and it continues to give the network error. any ideas about what might be going on here? This is the first time this is being setup and mobile is on the latest version of 10. Everything appears to be configured correctly in the mobile configuration page. I'm not all that knowledgeable with certificates but could it be something with that?

After opening a case with Support, the issue was resolved. It appears there was some issue in which a connection was being made to a non-public facing Forms Server which resulted in this network connection error for Forms. However after addressing this within the Laserfiche Mobile App Configuration page / and on the app itself, by adding and logging into the desired public facing Forms Server, the issue appears to now be resolved.

Hello Nick,

1) If you were to go to https://laserfiche.thewengergroup.com/mobile/configuration.aspx,  does that bring you to your configuration page?

2) What happens if you just use http://laserfiche.thewengergroup.com/mobile/

Hi Andrew,

using that link on a regular desktop gave a error message saying that "the configuration page can only be accessed locally." Using that link on the server allowed us to get in just fine. Is that telling of anything?

using http instead of https did not make any difference.

also, here is a screen shot of most of  the configuration page. I'm not sure how clear that is going to come in though. if you need a better image let me know.

Hello Nick,

Since you mentioned this is a new set up, this is most likely due to some firewall settings and port issues on your Mobile App Server side. So one thing to check is within your firewall settings, see the image attached.  By default https uses 443. But if you set a different port, be sure you use the right one.

Hi Andrew,

firewall was configured and we were able to get in ok....once in mobile the same exact thing pops up for trying to use forms. are there other firewall setting for forms to be aware of or could this be something entirely different? thanks for all your help on this!

No problem!

Alright, is your Mobile Server on the same machine as your Forms server? If not, one thing you can firstly try/confirm is on your Mobile server machine, attempt to log into your Forms page(http(s)://yourservername/forms) and see if you can access the login page and log in.

yes sir, mobile and forms is on the same server. Forms has been configured in the mobile configuration utility as well. Everything is updated to the newest versions/hotfixes since we were having some issues before with getting it to take the URLs in the mobile configuration utility. We are able to get into forms through the web just fine.

Using your Mobile device's web browser(not the laserfiche app), if you use the same connection that you used on the App, would you be able to log in and fill out forms?

going to the URL in the browser does give a logon prompt. when the credentials are put in, it gives a message saying that the configuration page can only be logged onto locally. I don't know why it says configuration page since this is supposed to be going into the mobile repository. it is using the exact URL that is used to get into the mobile app.

Hello Nick,

To elaborate a little bit, so say you're on an iPhone, please go to your safari web browser, and enter the URL for your forms page. One example of the URL would be http://yourserver/Forms/. So you aren't logging into your mobile configuration page, but into your Forms site itself.

We were able to log into the forms that way through the browser. is that more telling of the issue in the app though and why it won't work?

Nick, would you be able to open a support case? there are some things i want to check/test into further details which would be preferred via a case.

Hi Andrew,

It's been a busy week here. but yes, I will open a case up. should I just reference you in that and put a link to this in there with my explination?

Thanks,

Nick

Hey Nick,

Yeah that is fine. Most important is to include the answers link when starting a case, and then just explain to the Support team the basic issue, and I can work with them from there to provide you additional steps/information i would like to try.
