Laserfiche Administration Search and Retrieval

When choosing which location to search. I usually attach the location where all the folders are located.

Sometimes it can't find the index file correctly. Once the register is complete I go into the properties of the Index and I need to find the proper location.

There is a SEARCH and SEARCH8 folder that I am able to point to. When choice the path for the Index, which is the best practice approach?

Well, you'll want to attach to your current index files. Laserfiche 8 created the index in the SEARCH8 folder, later versions use the SEARCH folder. However if you migrated from version 8 you might still have the current index in SEARCH8 if it was just attached in place. The simplest thing to do would be to go look at the modify dates on the files in those locations and see which one is newest.
