Web Access 10 Image Blur

asked on April 27, 2016 Show version history

I have completed the web access upgrade from 9.2 to 10.1 and I noticed that the images look slightly off.  Other users have stated this as well.  It seems the image is slightly blurry although if I view the same image from client it is clear.

Also, when highlighting or using any annotation I am unable to delete the annotation I just applied.  When any user hovers over the delete option the pointer turns to a red cross out.  I am however able to add & delete within the client.

Has anyone else experienced this?  I have checked in multiple browsers (IE, Mozilla & Chrome) and all seem to have the same issue.

Hi Ramon,

Could you attach a screenshot of a sample image of WA (blurry) vs Client (clear)?

As for the annotations issue- are you trying to delete annotations that are just added? And are you attempting to delete them from the context menu? I can reproduce the behavior you described in Web Access 10.1 with these specific conditions. We filed a bug report to fix this in an upcoming release (SCR143583). As a workaround, try deleting the annotation by selecting it and pressing the delete key. This worked for us internally.

Hi Ryan, I have attached a sample screenshot and you should notice the colors are just slightly muted on the WA version so it gives the impression that the image is blurry.

Also, in reference to the annotation deletion, yes It is happening when I am attempting to delete from the context menu.

Thanks for the the info on the annotation though.  I suspected it may be a bug but didn't want to jump to that conclusion just yet.

FYI: You may have to download the screenshots  because they both show up blurry if you just preview them through my post.  I did not want to resize them in fear of distorting either image.

Hey Ramon,

I recommend you talk to your reseller and have them open a support case with our support team for the image blur issue. That way, it'll be easier to get logs/sample docs to troubleshoot the issue.

Please include the following for the support case:

1. Event logs from the Web Access server, with log level set to informational. You can find the logs under c:\programData\Laserfiche\WebAccess\EventLog\ (they're not stored in the event viewer anymore).

2. Attach a sample document that displays as blurry in Web Access.

3.  Provide some information about the machine Web Access is installed on (RAM, CPU, OS, etc).

A case has been opened with Laserfiche Support; we will update this thread with more information when available.

Hi James,

Has this case been resolved? We are on 10.2 and experience the same blurriness in Chrome, Firefox,  and IE browsers.

Hello Khanh, the short answer is no.

The case had no response since late August 2016, almost a year ago. We could not reproduce the issue using sample images which the customer had provided, and at latest had asked for additional tracing.

If this is occurring for you as well, you too can reach out to your reseller for further troubleshooting.

Regards

Hi Khanh, I was never really able to get this to be reproduced from our vendor.  This mainly came from end-users telling me images were blurry. The vendor has suggested it may be a monitor issue as I was even having issues reproducing the burry images. It is pretty annoying to some users but they seem to have gotten used to it, somehow?  A few posts above they list some information they need so maybe you can open a support case as well and submit some of the information they originally requested from me.
