Unable to log into desktop client after switching web access to sso

asked on April 27, 2016

I've configured sso for WebAccess and forms, and that seems to be working well. Log into one and don't need to log into the other,

The problem that seems to be occurring now is that the desktop client no longer permits my log in.

If I disable sso for WebAccess again it restores the ability to login using the desktop client. I've switched back and forth a number of times to verify this now. I also restarted the laserfiche server service each time.

All the accounts are windows domain accounts.

Am I missing some other configuration that needs to be applied somewhere?

You mean you set up Web Access to use Laserfiche Directory Service for authenticating users? Is the Laserfiche server running version 10 as well? It's probably best that you have your reseller open a case with Tech Support so they can troubleshoot the configuration.

Actually looks like there might be a bug. I was able to get it to work by checking the "Only sign in with SSO" checkbox. The desktop client now let's me log in with the domain accounts and named repository users. Unfortunately WebAccess now doesn't work with the repository users anymore (as would be expected from that checkbox), but without setting the checkbox the desktop client wouldn't allow domain accounts.

Definitely worth getting a support case - there shouldn't be any reason that the setting in Web Access configuration has any bearing on the desktop Client being able to communicate. If it was on the Laserfiche directory server or the Laserfiche Server, perhaps, but I don't see how those two would be connected. Something weird is going on here.

As for unchecking using SSO - you don't need to use SSO to connect via Laserfiche accounts into Web Access, it just won't use SSO for them. You can still manually enter them, like you do in the desktop Client. If that doesn't work, I'm wondering if perhaps the Laserfiche Server isn't correctly connected up to the Laserfiche directory server.
