Laserfiche Connector Error Message: "Chome is not configured correctly."

asked on April 26, 2016

Hey! I'm running into an issue trying to get Laserfiche Connector to play nice with Google Chrome. Within the Profile Connector Wizard I get this error:

Some quick info:

  • I've followed all of the instructions listed here to configure Chrome.
  • My "target" path for Chrome is set to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --remote-debugging-port=1
  • I always ensure that the port number listed in the "target" path (above) matches the port number listed in LFC.exe.config.
  • I've tried various ports, just in case that is the problem.
  • When building the Connector profile, I'm choosing the "Javascript to find controls" option.

I'm pretty sure that this is user-error on my part, but I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey Jon,

I get this sometimes too, even when it should be set up. I don't suppose you're opening chrome from a pinned shortcut on the taskbar? I've noticed that it is more reliable if you get a shortcut on your desktop and try that. No promises since, I'm not exactly sure why. Also, make sure chrome is completetly closed after setting things up - chrome keeps processes open a lot of times.

Hey Pava! I gave all of that a shot, but still no dice unfortunately. I'll open a support case to get to the bottom of it. Thanks!

Hi Justin,

Any updates on this? I'm running into the same issue - also did the config as indicated in the link above.
Thanks!

Hello I am having a similar issue, the only difference is, I can actually get the profile working but it will stop after a few days and once it does, the PC typically needs to be rebooted and all of the chrome processes need to be terminated in order to get the profile working again. Do any of you know what might be causing this?

If the configuration is correct, please make sure to close all the chrome processes to take effect. Another thing to note is, when you launch the chrome next time, please make sure you open from the taskbar. The reason is, the configuration is only applied to taskbar, if you try to launch it from start menu or other places, they have not been configured.
