Question

Error Web Access report generator

asked on April 26, 2016

Hi Everyone,

I don't know if it is an error or a missing configuration. However, since we updated Web Access to the newest version 10.1, I notice that when I generate a report from WA, using the option Tab and fields of my choice, that the .csv is not aligned  the information in columns as in the older version. I have attached a screenshot to demonstrate what I am saying. I know that I can always use the option in the data tab of excel to import and configure the information for me in a worksheet, but will be one more step that I have to add to the activity. In the first image, I have a screenshot of a report generated by Web Access 10.1 (newest) and the second, the reported generated by Web Access 10, can you see the difference.

If anyone would have an idea in how to make my report generate like the csv file in the older version, without me having to do  anything in the worksheet, I will be glad.

Thanks in advance for the information.

Best Regards,

Vitor

Hi Vitor,

The issue originally reported (Tab delimited reports open improperly in Excel) has been fixed in the recently released Laserfiche Web Access 10.1 Update 1. You can download the hotfix from the Laserfiche Support Site

Excel is not consistent with how it handles delimited file formats. Try opening the document using the Text Import Wizard, which allows you to specify the delimiter format:
