Question

Question

multiple Workflow designer windows / sessions at once

asked on April 25, 2016

One thing I would love to see happen - is the ability to open two window or sessions (not sure how to term it properly).

Almost similar to an internet browser.  When you open designer, you have tabs at the top.  It would be great if I could drag any one of those tabs out and have two separate windows.  Still being apart of the same session - meaning if I make a change to a WF or Starting Condition, I would see that change reflected on the other window(s).

I think it would be great to have my starting conditions on one screen and view that WF on another.  Or maybe have two similar WFs side by side.  Sometimes we have to replicate WFs and just need to tweak certain details but going back and forth between tabs gets confusing at times.

Hopefully this all made sense.  Thanks for reading and (possibly) considering.

Any updates on this?

Seems like a fairly easy request from several years ago that would benefit workflow designers.

You may be able to use the Workflow Web Designer for this. It runs inside a browser. I think it's read-only right now, but if all you need is to have a workflow open on the side as a reference, it might serve your needs.

I actually just tried this.  From the Designer, through the browser, I don't have the capability to even view ANY of the starting conditions.

If you click on a Workflow from the list, it just opens it and you can view it.  Nothing else.
