Question

Workflow error No entry was specified [0263-WF1]

asked on April 19, 2016 Show version history

Workflow Designer 9.2.0.167, trying to create a workflow but I can't get it to do my 1st task which is Retrieve Field Value.   error No entry was specified [0263-WF1]

I made a template with Customer ID (required) which I did fill in. For now I just want the workflow to retrieve the customer ID and create a folder with that information

Thanks, Wendi

How are you running this workflow (starting rules)?  You have to specify your starting entry which means when you manually run the workflow (green play button in the toolbar) you have to specify an entry with that specific template.  Or create a starting rule (document creation, change, etc) so that the Workflow triggers on a document.  That error means the workflow is trying to run on nothing.

I have tried with starting rules

Entry: Template Name equals PennAir Testing

Entry: Field (BSI Customer ID) is not empty

I do have a document in the repository that has this template and the field is not empty.  (Errors)

I also tried a schedule again the document is in the repository with the field not empty (Same Error)

I did try some different starting rules as well still same error. I made sure my connection to the repository is good (tested successful).   I can get it to make a folder with the document name it just won't pick up my field value. What am I missing?   Appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks Wendi

What was the event type for this starting rule? What errors did you get?

I noticed when I do a search in the client it does not find my file if I include the Field.

{[]:[BSI Customer ID]=""} & {LF:LOOKIN="LaserRepository\PennAir Incoming"}

If I don't include the Field is does find my file.

This field is required and will manually be filled, I want it to pull that information. Do I need a token? If so what would the token be? I want what the user types in that field and if that field is empty the file should  be ignored.  Please help!  Thanks Wendi
