Feature Request: Ability to Rerun Completed or Failed Workflow with Original Parameters

Hi all,

I've a number of workflows which are called via the workflow REST API. There occasions I'd like to re-run them (issues during production or during test cycles) with the same parameters. When I hit the big >play button on a completed workflow, the parameters can be edited but they default to <BLANK>. I'd like to request the workflow defaults to values what they it was originally run with.

Could anyone else use this functionality?

I would very much like to see this functionality added. I have a similar issue I am working through that would benefit from this functionality.

This would indeed be VERY helpful. The primary use case for us is when designing or troubleshooting workflows initiated from Forms. It sucks having to fill out and submit the form again with the same values just to kick off the workflow with the same values, especially if the form is long and/or is part of a lengthy, multi-step business process. Being able to right-click a workflow instance in the results page and select an option like "Re-run workflow with original parameters" would save a ton of time.

One suggestion for this case. Submit the form once, then change the Retrieve BP Variables activity to hardcode that instance and submission while you're designing the workflow. You can do that from the activity's advanced properties (the gear icon in the top right corner of the Properties pane). This way you can keep running the workflow directly from the designer and it will act like it was started from that instance as far as the form data goes. Switch the activity back to "the instance that started this workflow" when you're done.
