Question

Can an employee use web access at work, but not from home?

asked on April 14, 2016

Hello,

Can an employee have access to web access at work, but be blocked from having access at home?

For Example: The employee is hourly and legally the company does not want that person working from home.

Thanks for the help!

That would probably be a question for the clients network team.  Usually WebAccess is only installed internally anyway (inside the company firewall).  Users cannot gain access to the page from outside the network.

If the user has VPN access into the network though they will be able to hit the webpage as well.

If WebAccess is inside the firewall and the employee does not have VPN access then you are set.

If the do have VPN access then I would ask their network team to possibly only allow certain IP ranges (or some other indicator, possibly a VPN indicator) to not be allowed access to the page.
