Question

Moving QF Sessions/QF to New Machine

asked on April 13, 2016

Hello, I am leaving my employment. I have been training a co-worker to take my place.  This department only has one QF license.  Is there a way I can have my IS department move my sessions/QF from my computer to hers?

Yes, Quick Fields can be moved at anytime.  You will need to uninstall/deactive it first so you can use that activation key on the new install.  Before you uninstall Quick Fields open up the program and see where all your sessions are saved (Desktop, My Documents, C drive, network location, etc).  Then just copy those sessions if needed to the new machine.  Also check to see if you have any lookups in the session so you can re-create the ODBC connection on the new machine.

See this KB article for instructions. If you don't have the hardware fingerprint anymore, your reseller can get it from tech Support.
