Question

Instance ID via a Retrieve Business Process Variables

asked on April 11, 2016

I searched and found topics on this but cannot seem to find a way to use the Instance ID in metadata.  The workflow is triggered by the submission of a Form.  I would like to write the instance ID to the metadata during the Workflow.  However there is no instance ID in either the Retrieve Business Process Variables or in the Global variables.

If I throw a token tracker into the workflow it seems to have the info:

However these are not accessible to map to any templates.  Is this a bug or am I missing something?

We are on Forms and Laserfiche 10.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

It's there just not as one would expect.

Right click in the white space of the workflow and select View Properties. Make sure [ ] Started by Laserfiche Forms is checked.

This will now populate reserve tokens tied to the Forms process under "Input Parameters" in the token menu (Just under Global where we retrieve date, initiator and so on.)

Within the Input Paremeters, you will see a BP Instance ID token and Forms Submission ID.

Cheers,

Carl

Awesome Carl, thank you.  I also found that if you use an assign a token and maunally type in %(formsinstanceid) it does show an error but actually works.

Just passing along a possible feature request - check that box automatically if we have a retrieve business process variables from a form.

Thanks again Carl.

This didn't work for me until I checked the Started by Laserfiche Forms box on the properties tab.
