login and loading problems with weblink 8.3

asked on April 11, 2016 Show version history

I have a customer using weblink 8.3 and they are having issues with logging in/slow running. Often, right after trying to sign in, it will sign right back out and say "your session was lost. please log in again to continue" this seems to go away after one time and then it logs in fine (see snap 2.) Also, browsing to files is very slow and the full images don't want to pop up (see snap 1.) they also get an message that pops up stating that "a lost connection condition has been detected" when the documents try to load (see snap 3.) I read a thread on here with an almost exact description but it seems to be related to a box with windows XP and weblink 8.2, this is using windows 7 and 8.3. do the same rules apply here for a fix? refer to article https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/53899/A-lost-connection-condition-has-been-detected-error-weblink-82. This is a rio environment and they are running multiple servers. The server that houses their repositories works fine for all other repositories just not this one. multiple sites are setup for weblink and this is the only one that appears to not work. An event log was pulled from that server and it is attached as well.

Any information regarding this would be much appreciated, Thanks!

There's not really enough information to troubleshoot, since there are several different problems that can produce the same symptoms.  For instance, the advice in that thread only helps if the error is caused by too many simultaneous users.  If you see error 500.13 in the IIS logs, that's an indication that this fix might apply.

That event information suggests that there's an error while rendering the thumbnail control, but that shouldn't affect the image tiles.  It's possible that that error is causing IIS to recycle the worker process, but you'd need to investigate a bit further.

yeah, I was kind of leaning towards that as well. I always figure it's worth a shot to ask on here anyways. ultimately, i'll update this accordingly with information or a fix once found.

Thanks!

As stated, I'd update this once a fix was found. There were some networking problems between servers and the site in question was migrated to another one with the newest version of weblink and this fixed the issue.
