One thing you may find helpful is to put things into Collecctions.  You can name the Collection (then take away the add) and then basically hide the aspects of it.  We also have processes with large number of forms.  We also tend to want to use the same variable names (Last Name or something) across many different forms.  Inside a container, the variables are prefixed by the Collection name.  Its not perfect but we find using the formname_variable name or collection_variable name helpful.
