We are having issues with ScanConnect not responding on our computers.

We are having issues with ScanConnect on our computers, we are using Kodak i3400 scanners.
Every day while scanning documents, ScanConnect will freeze up or pause for long periods of time. We get error messages saying ScanConnect has stopped working. We have also gotten error messages saying "The request engine is not installed on this machine, the default scan engine will be loaded" and "Unhandled exeception has occured in your application".  We did contact Kodak in the past to see if it was a scanner issue but they didn't find anything. We have been working with our reseller and IT for the last few weeks to try to find the problem but no luck.  Even after shutting everything down and restarting, the problem starts around an hour later.  Any help would be appreciated.

did you ever find a solution for this? I'm running into this now that I just upgraded from QF 8.3 to 10 and Office 2016 from 2010.
