I've been researching how to compress my backup which is up 4 folds in just 6 months to 1.2 T. Without Quick Fields i've come to realise the path to optimisation are limited. What i did was to use customized search to display all electronic files or files with no electronic components for PDF and Images, i select as much, then reprocess with Photodocs and convert them to black and white. For Laserfiche images generated from PDF, the electronic file is unchanged but the images are compressed up to 90%. That sounds promising right? but i'd have to do this procedure concurrently for the next 3 months to process considerable number of documents which is not very efficient.

I was referred to FILEminimizer which has the ability to compress unstructured documents like the ones in Laserfiche volumes, has anyone used a solution like that? As expected they wouldn't make their compression algorithm public but I'm worried it can cause distortions or error in my volume after a promised compression rate of up 60%. I'm also unsure how the scheduled task will affect documents already compressed as we have instances of modified documents or documents replaced daily.
