Open the LF client. Go to Tools > Options > New Documents > File Conversion.

Is the TXT extension included in the File Conversion list? If so, please remove it.  File types not included on this list will be imported as electronic documents.

Hi Afnan,

I'm interested to know why you want them to come in as electronic documents? The main difference for text files is whether they open in the native Laserfiche document viewer, which generally is preferred.

Super old reply... but just came across this during our onboarding to LF (cloud).

Finance has txt exports that get modified when importing as a LF document instead of basic electronic document.

This then converted format isn't read by the bank properly, and people don't get paid... not ideal at all.

Removing from the File Conversion list seems to be the answer for these documents.

My question piggy-backing this - can this be a group/global change, or only per user?

Did the process described work for you then?

Just as an FYI, if your text file has a Form Feed in it and you do not have a setting in the Laserfiche Client to create a new page after X number of rows enabled, it will still break to new pages based on the FF value.
