Question

ERROR: A "The parameter is incorrect. "

asked on March 30, 2016

I have a customer on LF 9.2.1 Service Pack 1 (9.2.1.635) and they are reporting that they are getting

ERROR: A "The parameter is incorrect. "

when they are modifying medadata.  We found KB 1013183 and they say that does fit their situation, but it also states that it was resolved in 9.0.2.

Any ideas on the problem and can it be resolved without upgrading to 10?

Can you get the full text of the message they get and post it to the thread?

Hi Joe,

This error is pretty generic and can crop up in any situation where field values reach the Laserfiche Server that do not match the specified field type. It'd be hard to judge what's going on without knowing more about the scenario, such as what field types are involved, is anything a required field, where are you trying to modify the fields, does the user have all rights on all displayed fields, are any of the fields dynamic, etc...

Hi Justin,

The error seems to only happen when editing one specific Field (Amount - API)

Type: Number

Format: Currency

Multiple values are allowed

Not Required

No constraints

The "Everyone" group has the Read, Create, and Edit access rights, and all users are part of "Everyone".

The end user is opening the document in the LF Client and replacing existing data and then adding the original data in the new field/value.  She would make her edit and then close the file which would normally save automatically but instead she receives the above error.

We have tried manually saving the file before closing the window without much luck.  The file will either save the change without error, revert the changed data back to the original data, or toss the same error.
