Question

Scroll to top Behavior

asked on March 28, 2016

Focus on the screen goes right back to the top of folder after updating the metadata.  Is there a setting to fix this?

I took three screen shots.

The first is of the item I am updating metadata on highlighted in blue

Second is the metadata pane with change of the reagent # to L1919

Third is after I click Ok and it rolls me all the way to the top entry in my Safety Data Sheet folder.

A case was opened for this issue and the folder in question contained over 1,000 entries. For a folder with over 1,000 entries, you can create the [Settings]RestoreSelectionsLimit  attribute for the user or on the Everyone Group and give it a value greater than the number of entries in a particular folder.

Hey Steve,

I tired this on version 9.2 and 10.2 and it still jumps back to the top of the list of documents. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Corey - It's a little hard to tell from the screenshot but it looks like you might have the detail pane contents set to order (descending) on the 'Last Modified' metadata field.  If that is the case then then any time you modify the metadata then that entry will move to the top of the list.

Corey - It looks like you are modifying data that is used in the sort order.  It looks like the sort order on the detail pane is set to 'Product Type'.  When you modify that field it will also move the entry in the detail pane.

Thanks Cliff! I do understand what you mean, However, the client did not modify the product type. She only added the Reagent Code. After clicking ok, it shoots her right back up to the top.
