Issues with Connection Profiles

asked on March 25, 2016

I recently had all the Laserfiche programs reinstalled on a new computer.  Now I am having trouble with certain items.

One issue is that I cannot create a Condition based starting rule because it won’t give me a profile choice in the “Get metadata from:” drop down.  My workflow has 4 connection profiles set up and they all validate.  If I access workflow designer through a server it is fine.  On my old computer it was fine.  Did something get missed when my new computer got set up?

Same workflow open between the Server and my local computer -

Server: (9.1.1.831)

My Computer: (9.1.1.365)

I am having the same type of problem in Forms (9.2.1.1088) where I can’t set up a profile to store an upload to the repository.  On the server it works fine, from my computer I can’t do it.

Server:

My Computer:

Even if I type the server name in, it won’t give me a list of repositories.  Even if I type the server and the repository, I put in user name and password and it fails to validate.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what to look at when my computer was set up?

Thanks.

"Get metadata from" displays profiles from the Profile Manager (Tools\Options\Default Connection Profile), not from workflow definitions. The list is saved per machine to C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\WF\Profiles for common profiles and C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Laserfiche\WF\Profiles for user profile. You can copy the ConnectionProfiles.xml from your old machine or recreate the profiles.

Is Forms the same type of thing?  I got the workflow issue solved but I still can't create a repository profile in Forms.

1. For your Workflow Profile issue, try logging in with the account into the LF client.  See if you have rights to the template.  If you do not have rights to the template, login to the Admin console as admin and check the template security. Make sure that the account has rights to the templates you want to use with the Profile.

2. For the Forms configuration not listing your repositories, check the LF admin console for the repository you want to connect to.  Go to the settings node and check the Listening port used by the LF server.  If it is anything other than port 80, you will need to take that into account in the Forms config.  Instead of typing in the LF server name in the box, use the IP with the port (<IP>:port). For example if your IP is 192.168.1.1 and the port is 75, the syntax will be 192.168.1.1:75.

For the workflow, yes I have right and workflow has rights.  Everything was working fine on Monday.  I got the new computer Tuesday.  Now locally I can't get the profile to show up.  I have no problems with the workflow and have been testing it fine (every works and I can see it all in Client) it is just when I try to set up a condition rule that it won't give me the profile.

I will try the IP for forms.

In your workflow, select the Green Arrow on top and go to "Manage workflow connection profiles".  Select the Profile you are trying to use.  Does it validate?

Yes.  It is just in the starting rules and just on my computer that there is an issue.

Are the versions of the Designer in your machine and the one on the Server the same?
What port is the WF server configured to use?

Server version is 9.1.1.381 and locally I have 9.1.1.365 (same as when it was working on Monday).

WF server is configured on port 8085
