Question

mobile tablet ipad freehand annotation not available

asked on March 24, 2016 Show version history

Hello all,

I have a prospect who would like to use a tablet to take photos (or load existing images in Laserfiche) and mark them up with the freehand annotation tool. These medical images will be used to record the various locations of desired and completed procedures.

Unfortunately the freehand tool doesn't seem to work in LF Mobile or the mobile version of Web Access.

Using a Samsung Tab S2 with Chrome, Opera and the native browser, I've tried clicking "Use Desktop Site" but I still couldn't get the freehand tool to work.

I'd like to request:

1. An enhancement to LF Mobile and/or

2. Suggestions on how to make this work

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Ben,

Freehand annotation is an Mobile's backlog.

Meanwhile, a not very ideal work around can be done with the "signature pane" by tapping the signature button when you are creating an image and in the image editing view. It was designed of wet signature. But here you can draw the mark e.g. circle or lines, and then put it to the corresponding position, resize it as you need it.

Hope this can be a temporary workaround and we'll be adding the annotation asap.

HI Julia,

I can't see the option you are referring to. In the mobile version of Web Access there's an option to add a stamp. However, each time I add a custom stamp I have to click the stamp button, then click the choose button then click the stamp then click the page.

It would save a of clicks if I didn't have to select the stamp every time (if the last one used was remembered ) . Adding lots of pre-defined annotations would be much easier then.

Thanks for your feature request. We will look into that for upcoming releases.

As a note, the option Julia mentioned is for the LF Mobile Application, not Web Access viewed on a mobile device.
