Question

HTML in Workflow - Email Action

asked on March 21, 2016

In Laserfiche Workflow, Email Activity, is there a better way to format the email? My "plain text" is not checked in advanced settings but it feels like I am working in plain text with html tags - this is making the email really long and difficult to edit. Anyone else doing this differently?

I love the Forms email controls. Will there be a pretty shell in Workflow like there is in Forms, with option to switch to HTML?

Thanks!

Lidija,

What I plan on doing is creating my e-mails in Forms and copying the HTML code to the workflow process. It's easier that way...That way my e-mails don't look so plain.

Yeah that is what I do now too but what do you do when you have to do some heavy editing? Currently I create a new email action and have to do changes in forms. Do you save your email actions in Forms somewhere?

I created a Test process just to store and test things out. I probably will just leave a copy of the e-mail there. Is that what you are asking?

Yes it is, I was wondering if I could avoid that

The Email activity does not have an HTML viewer at this time.

Are there any plans for implementation of one?

Any chance of this being implemented?

Not likely, no. Since mail clients, like Outlook, implement their own HTML formatter that's not quite standard, we would be forever trying to catch up to their quirks and fixes. The best way to test your formatting is to send the email.
