Question

Web Access Field not accepting comma

asked on March 21, 2016 Show version history

Hi Everyone.

We have a field in our metadata, that we use to put a price for a tax. It is a field type "number", and with the format as "Currency - Brazilian Real - BRL". One example of the value would be R$1.234,50 . However , after we updated to Web Access 10, this field would not accept the use of comma anymore, and it is not letting us put the "cents or coins" in the value. And even if we use the dot, it does not undertand, bucause in our currency we use the dot to separate it.

If anyone would have some tip to help with that , I will be glad.

I don't know if it is an error, but I can say that in the LF Client it is working fine. so I believe that it is something with the new version of web access.

Thanks for the help.

Regards,

Vitor

This issue was addressed in the Web Access 10.1 update. Installing the newly released version should fix this issue.

Hi Vitor,

We can reproduce this behavior internally and have filed a bug report to fix it (SCR142125 for your reference). We'll look to fix this issue in an upcoming release.

Interestingly enough, our internal instance of the Client and Web Admin did not match the screenshots you provided. When I tested these products using a BRL formatted field, I noticed that the ',' and the '.' were switched, similar to how they would be in a USD format (i.e. R$123,456.00 instead of R$123.456,00). They did, however, allow you to edit the cents in the currency, unlike Web Access 10.

Can you give me the builds of Web Admin and Client that you used to reproduce the issue? Were the Client and Web Admin installed on a pt-BR Windows OS?

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for the feedback. In the LF client is everything working fine, I just sent the client screenshot to exemplify that in the client was working okay and in the web not.

The Web admin version is Version: 10.0.2.1036

The web admin is installed in Windows 2012 English version, but the keyboard is configured to pt-BR.

Client 10.0.0 Update 2 (10.0.0.1039)

The client is installed in a pt-BR Windows OS (Windows 10 64 it)

Did I answer you question?, if you need any other information, I will be glad to add.

Thanks again for the help.

Regards,

Vitor

If nothing else works, you can add a Single Line field, and then configure your format using Regular Expression.

Hi Lidija,

Thanks for the tip. We have been using this field for quite a while, and it will be complicate to create another to store the same information for searches, but thank you very much for the help. I will keep this idea in mind.
