Upgrade of Laserfiche Directory Service from V9.2 to V10 - Does not load the web settings page.

asked on March 19, 2016

Hi,

We upgraded from Laserfiche 9.2 to Laserfiche 10 today. As part of the upgrade we upgraded The directory server to V10 as well. However we have had the following issues :

1. Logging in as a windows authenticated user gave the error of incorrect username or password - This was fixed by installing the latest KB - KB 1013748.

However  the below is still present;

2. The issue i am sitting with now is that i cant access directory server. Attached is the screenshot if the error i am currently getting.

Has anyone else seen an error like this on Directory server and have had it resolved?

The solution was to replace the config file as it did not upgrade during the installation.

Hi Bharthi, I have the same issue, what you did exactly to open LDFS 10?

Thanks,

I'm not sure how your installation got into this state, but in addition to indicating that you are missing a file, that error message could mean that the web.config has a different version number for Laserfiche.IdentityModel.dll than the one you have installed.

There are two main things you can check:

  1. Under C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Directory Server\Web\LFDS\bin, do you have Laserfiche.IdentityModel.dll?
  2. In that same file, check your web.config for a node like the following:
    <dependentAssembly>
    	<assemblyIdentity name="Laserfiche.IdentityModel" publicKeyToken="53e06f26ec0fac4f" culture="neutral" />
    	<bindingRedirect oldVersion="0.0.0.0-9.2.1.0" newVersion="9.2.1.0" />
    </dependentAssembly>

I was unable to reproduce, but if you provide the specific version you upgraded from (9.2 release version, 9.2 update 1, 9.2.1) we can look into it further. If any files were open during the upgrade, or if a different service user was chosen during install, there may be permissions issues.

Delete or rename web.config and repair the installation to get a clean copy of it. Then re-configure LFDS.
