Question

Assign User Task in Forms Using Invoke Business Process Activity?

asked on March 16, 2016

Now that in Workflow 10 we have the Invoke Business Process activity for Forms, how can it be used to assign a user task to an individual or a team?

I'm guessing that the user task has to be set up with a static user and it couldn't be dynamically populated? If that is the case, are there plans to be able to pass values to the assignee variables?

Invoke Business Process can start a process, but not assign tasks in the middle of a running process. The activity can set any variables available in the process. So you could have it start with the user name as a field variable and then go into the user task and use the field variable to set the user.

Hello Blake,

Another thing that you can do is set the assign in the User Task in Forms to be the initiator and then pass in a person from Find User or Find Group in the Process Initiator section of the Invoke Business Process activity.
