Question

Can't get Generate Web Access URL to work.

asked on March 15, 2016

I have having issues in workflow 9.1 getting Generate Web Access URL to work.  I have looked at other postings and tried some of those suggests but still can get it to work.  Can someone point me in the direction of what is wrong?

I can get a link to work right but I don't want it to open the document when they click the link in the email.  I want it to open to a search and they open the document from there.  First one I tried said no search results found.  Others say it has to be in quotes.

Unrelated side note: If you're doing a search by ID, then the folder path criterion is unnecessary.

Good thought.  I guess I figured if I put the folder in, it would narrow down how many records it has to search through since we have over 3 million records in the repository.

No need, the ID does that job already.

Hi Jennifer,

It looks like your tokens aren't getting resolved. For Web Access 9.2, the links should look like this: https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/webaccess/9.2/en-US/WAA/WAConfiguration.htm. Specifically, they'll have the Server and search syntax in them, not %(etc...).

What does the URL generated look like?

I can't reproduce it, that's a search URL so Web Access just runs the search. Might want to have your reseller open a case with Tech Support.

Looks like it might be how I have it written in the email.

Interesting. Do they look identical once all tokens are resolved?

Once I took the encoding off the first link, both links work fine.  I do have a different problem now.  I try to open the document (fillable PDF) in web access in the laserfiche viewer and none of the fields that the workflow filled in are visible.  But I can see them all if I open the same document in Client (9.2 for both).

Both are set to open in the laserfiche viewer instead of the native viewer since trying to save in the native viewer doesn't seem to work.

The current version of Web Access does not support showing the PDF natively withing the document viewer, so you're likely seeing the original TIFF image matching the pages. The upcoming Web Access 10.1 will add the ability to view the PDFs directly through the document viewer.

In the meantime, you'll want to open the document as the electronic file, instead of pages.
