I would like to limit some users' access to discussions on certain documents and folders. Just as Laserfiche is a place to store documents, you wouldn't let anybody store documents anywhere they want -- that is chaotic, so we create security models that only allow certain users to create documents in certain locations. It's the same with Discussions about documents and folders: a system administrator should be able to limit the documents and folders that users can post on. For example, in Web Access, a user can click the root folder of the repository and then "Start a new subpost" -- this doesn't seem right. So I think that either we need additional Rights related to Discussions, or else maybe somehow use the same rights that we currently have (i.e. Create and Edit, Browse/Read/Modify Contents/Delete).

I would love to hear opinions for the devs as well as other users/VARS.

Thanks!

Ken
