pdf that did not pass validation

Hello,

 

I have a customer that is receiving this error "Some of the submitted reports were pdf files that did not pass validation. These were not saved." in Agenda Manager 9. What she is doing is merging 2 PDFs together within Agenda Manager by opening one of the PDF's then merges that PDF with another. Then when we try to attach the PDF to Agenda Manager website she gets that error.

This only happens when she is merging pdfs within Agenda Manager. when she merges outside of Agenda Manager, saves the document to her desktop, then attaches the PDF to an item,  it stores without an issue. Has anyone seen this?

Some software programs produce PDFs that seem to display ok in Adobe, but which actually contain elements that will cause Agenda Manager trouble when it comes time to produce the agenda packet.  Agenda Manager tests for this when you submit it as an attachment.  You can try upgrading the software you used to produce the PDF, or switch to a different tool.

I'm not sure I follow this part.  Are you saying that the PDF she's trying to attach was produced this way?  Was it created as a packet for a previous meeting, or is there another way to get Agenda Manager to combine PDFs that I'm forgetting?

Her process is this:

1. Opens an item

2. Open a Word Document

3. Makes changes in the word document

4. Stores it as a PDF

5. Attaches the PDF as an attachment to that item

6. Opens the PDF attachment from the item

7. In the PDF, she combines with another PDF so that its one PDF

8. Stores it

9. Click save on the item with the changes of the PDF attachment

10. That's when she receives the error.

Step 7 is using some kind of PDF creation software, right?  Opening the PDF launches Adobe or similar.  Which software is this, and can you check it for updates?

It is a PDF creation in Adobe Acrobat. I can check to see if there is updates today. I will then follow up. Thanks!

Hi all,

A case has been opened with Laserfiche Support regarding this issue, and we will look into why these particular PDFs are not passing validation. This thread will be updated when a resolution is found.

Any resolve for this issue.  My customer is getting the same error.  They are running the latest version of AM.

Are there any updates.  We have a customer that is receiving this error on Agenda Manager 8.0.2 and we are planning an upgrade to version 9 hoping this would be the fix.

Hi Susan,

 

The issue was filed after Agenda Manager 9.0 SP2 released. We may consider fix it in the next release.
