Import Agent Start Time

Whenever Import Agent service is restarted, it is taking long time to start ( >15 min )importing documents .

Is there a way to start imports immediately? Also, on one of the hosts where we have about 120 Import Agent profiles, it is taking long time to start next job once it completes current job. On what parameters does this time lag depend?

Import Agent typically runs all the time.  Is there a reason why it has to be restarted on your end?

Whenever we have to patch the servers we have to restart the hosts. 

Also, on the hosts where large number of profiles are listed, time between completing one job and starting of next job is large.

Srikanth, you mean when Import Agent imports all the documents in the monitored folder, it will take a long time to start to import the new incoming documents in the monitored folder?
