Question

Interpretation of Audit Trail results

asked on March 10, 2016

Hi all,

I want to confirm if my interpretation of the below audit trail result is correct or not.

Does it mean that the USER1 has moved the entry 'FIN' which is found in Workings in the new folder Workings\s?

Please see below screenshot.

Thanks to advise.

Hi,

By moving the entry, does it mean that the entry was cut from Workings\FIN and paste into Workings\s?

Please advise.

Just to be clear, it looks like the original path was \Workings\, not \Workings\FIN\.  So the document was moved from \Workings\ to \Workings\S\

Regarding how exactly it was moved, it could have been a cut & paste, or it could have been a drag & drop

Right, auditing is done from the perspective of the Laserfiche server, and LFS is not aware of the different ways in which client applications expose move functionality to users.  Note that Web Access 10 adds a third way of moving an entry, via a context menu which brings up a folder picker.  Any of these methods would result in the same entry in the audit log.
