Can i add a star on a document using the workflow .
Not at this time. Starred items and recent documents use a server feature called "User Areas", which are currently not modifiable by other users. That is, Workflow only has access to the starred items of the Workflow user. Expanding it is a good idea, but we don't have a timeline for when this might be available.
Brian, has the answer changed since March of 2016? Is there a way for the Workflow user to access "User Areas" to apply (and remove) stars on documents? We are still on 10.2 (see below) but are hopeful this is in 10.3 or the coming 10.4. Please advise.
Unfortunately, no. The user area is still only accessible to the user who owns it.
