Question

Saved Searches in Office Integration

asked on March 8, 2016

My client is having issues with the custom searches portion when storing a file into LF using office integration. In the normal client, they have loaded a custom search and applied it to the everyone group's attributes so that everyone would have this custom search in their client. When you go to Office and try to save the document, the custom search doesn't come up, but the default ones do(as they do in the client also). Does anyone know if this is a known issue?

The office integration doesn't support custom quick searches but we will look into supporting it in a future version.

Hello Robert,

Do you know if LF 10.3.1 has this functionality?

Thanks,

Jeff

No, it does not. Can you provide more details on why you are looking to run custom searches from within the office integration?

Hello Justin,

Thanks for the reply.

It is something one of our Customers has asked about.

Below is their Detailed Ask from the customer:

I am looking to customize the email attachments popup that gets opened when replying to a Microsoft Office Outlook 2016 email reply using the Laserfiche Addin. There are defined columns and a single search in the top right, and the repository on the left. I'd like to know how to configure the following -

1. Add/Remove columns from the view. Specifically add Electronic Date Modified, and a metadata field (Name).
2. Be able to search in a specific sub-directory instead of the repository as a whole.
3. Be able to search on more than one field if possible.

Customer has a custom search built that would work for the search portion if it can be setup in that popup

Thanks,

Jeff Curtis

I am having trouble understanding the situation here, can you post a screenshot of where the Laserfiche Outlook Addin has columns and a search bar?

What is the status of Laserfiche looking into this functionality?

Are we able to have a custom quick search show up in the Office integration attach Laserfiche document window?  Currently it doesn’t.  If I paste the syntax of a search I have saved in my quick search, it does bring up recent documents, but I can not expect a normal person to do that.  I’d really like the quick search to show a custom saved search within the integration.
