Incorrect thumbnails displaying for portion of a file

asked on March 7, 2016 Show version history

I have a bizarre issue that someone came to me with this morning.  Looking at a particular document, the thumbnails match perfectly with the contained pages, up until page 70; after this page, the thumbnails suddenly don't match the actual document at all.

Looking at a couple of knowledge base articles, I know there might be issues saving thumbnail files depending on permissions, however the .lft files are there.  I also saw the following article, where it was suggested to use Generate Pages, but this has already been done.  I also had a look at the Search Index, and I could see that this is running fine now as well (thinking that maybe the link between the document and its location might have been to blame).

Can anyone think of anything else I could check to possibly get the thumbnails looking the same as the actual pages of the document again?  Thanks to anyone who can assist!

Follow to the path of the images in the backend, then do a cut on all of the files with the extension .LFT to another location.  Now go into the client and preview again to see if its loading the thumbnails correctly.  LFT will automatically be generated again after being moved out of the original location.

That did it - I deleted all the constituent .lft files and reloaded the document, and the thumbnails loaded properly!

Can you think of any reason this might have happened?  Possibly a corrupted Search Index?

Thanks for your assistance!
