Stored Procedure in Workflow - Return Value to Use as a Token

We have created a simple stored procedure in Workflow. We are trying to recall @NEWID to be used as a token. How can this be done?

Custom Query Values

Hi Doug,

You do not need to specify the "@NEWID" return variable, as Workflow will do this for you. After writing the Custom Query, be sure to click "Test..." in the activity's properties. This allows you to use the "Select" variables in your stored procedure as tokens in Workflow. Here is an example:

SQL Table:

Stored Procedure:

Workflow custom query:

After clicking "Test..." the values can be accessed as tokens:

If you expect multiple return values for each column, you will need to use a "For Each Row" activity to access them.
