Is there a limit on the number of values you can enter for a multi-value field on a document?

I heard it might be 999, but not sure.

According to the System Limits KB (1012452), the number is much higher: .

Number of values for a multi-value property | 32768

 

The limit of 999 is for the number of distinct fields that can be defined on template:

Number of fields per template schema | 999

Hello,

Can I limit the multi value fields to only accept 5 fields and then stop the user from adding any more fields?
