Can anyone tell me why the default email setting in WebAccess 10  for email is to combine documents into one zip file? Also, is there a way to turn that off Globally?

Hi Marta,

You can force the default to be off by adding the [Settings]ExportEmailAttachZip attribute (int) to the everyone group and setting it to 0.

Most organizations don't allows zip files as a means of sending things that is why I asked the question.

Yes found that after I posted. Just seems odd that the default is zip files. Thanks

Zipping the files saves space and upload/download time by compressing the files. They can also be more convenient when many files are involved, as the user can download the attachment and unzip the files into a folder, rather than having to download and keep track of each individually.

As such, zip files are a good choice when sending multiple files, or larger files, both of which are common use cases of sending from Web Access.
