You can move it. Just attach a copy of the DB to the new SQL server and re-configure Audit Trail to point to it. As long as the repository matches, it will check the data already in the database and not re-import it.

But that's the problem - you say "re-configure Audit Trail to point to it", but it doesn't appear in the list of databases under the Select An Existing Database drop-down, so you can't select it. Is there some trick to it that I don't know?

The page uses the credentials of the Audit Trail service to get the list of databases from SQL. Does your service user have rights to the new SQL server?

Yes it has rights, but I think I have found the issue - the database was not available to select if using the Repository Setup Wizard in AT Config, but it is available to select directly on the Database page - not sure why it would be different, but this clears it up for me.

I am having this same problem. I can see all databases on my SQL server EXCEPT the one I want to choose. I can see it under the database tab, but configuring in that tab doesn't appear to attach anything. I would like to select it in the Wizard.

Creating a new database, then switching worked partially. It shows the audit data but lost their configurations.
