Question

change volume on multiple folders

asked on February 29, 2016 Show version history

I have a multilevel folder structure in which all new documents default to the parent volume name.  I need to change the volume name for several folders and subfolders as well as the documents in them.  Is there a way to select multiple folders at a time and change their volume names as well as all their subfolders and documents?

Hi Alex,

Migration will happen on the Entry level. Hence you can search for all folders and documents using "Within Folder" option, and select all the entries from the search result. Then select the option for Migrate Entries from Action Menu -> Migrate Entries, by selecting the Volume you need to transfer.

For future documents, Set the Volume in the Options within the Laserfiche Client.

We are going through the same thing...  Our concern in migrating this way is the size of results.  We have 6TB of data and several of the volumes are 200+ GB.  Don't shoot the newbie :)  We are trying to fix several things and are looking an upgrading to 10.3 so want to get all this set before upgrading.

Thank you for your time and support!

Sue
