Question

LF 10 - Submission time stamp and submission ID variables no longer available in Workflow or Forms Process Modeler?

asked on February 29, 2016 Show version history

Hello,

We used to use tokens for Submission Time Stamps and Submission ID numbers in our Thank-You message of the Forms Process Modeler. It seems these tokens are no longer available here. I can access them in the Forms Edit page, where I tried to insert them as hidden fields to be sourced as tokens for the Thank-You message. However, this solution did not work either.

I now have found that these tokens are also missing in Workflow.

Has anybody else encountered this problem? Any solutions?

To condense this question, what happened to the remaining sub-categories of Process Variables as below?

Are you sure you're looking at the same thing? It makes no sense to have Previous Submission tokens in a Message Start event.

Yes, I believe the Previous Submission tokens were available in the Message Start event at one point.

Logically, the "Thank You Message" event takes place after the form submission, therefore data from the submission should be available to be sourced as Tokens.

Sorry, but they weren't there in 9.2 for message start events. I checked 9.1.1 as well, and there were no variables allowed in the "thank you" page for Message Start.

Thank you for looking into it for me, Miruna.

What is puzzling me are the lack of Instance tokens in different places. I am sure we used these in Workflow and in the "Thank-You Message" of Forms.

I can only seem to access instance variables in Forms only when on the Form Edit page or when I Configure Fields of a Service Task in the Process Modeler.

I am specifically looking for the option to access {/dataset/_instance_id} when using a custom query  in Workflow, and was hoping this variable was available in the Forms "Thank-You Message".

I'm not really sure how a Workflow custom query ties into "thank you" messages, but either way, the instance ID, Submission ID and Submission Timestamps tokens are still available in Workflow 10. They're hidden by default since there's a lot of Forms tokens that would unnecessarily clutter the list when the instance doesn't use the Forms activities. To turn them on, click on the canvas to get the workflow properties, then select "View workflow properties" in the Properties pane. On the General tab, check the box labeled "started by Laserfiche Forms". The tokens will appear in the list under "Input parameters".
