Yes, the Discussions URL in the Web Access config page matches 100% the Discussions URL in the Discussions config page.  You might be on to something with re: to the SocialBPMIDList.  Under VM11 which works fine, here is the snippet of the WebAccessConfig.xml file.  Note that in this VM, there is only one repository which is LaserRepository - see below.

<SocialBPMIDList><SocialBPMID Name="LaserRepository" ID="_x0031_"/></SocialBPMIDList>

Under VM6 which does not work properly, the SocialBPMIDList is blank. In this VM, there are two repositories - LaserRepository and TOMRMS.  Neither are listed under the SocialBPMIDList section.  How do I make sure they get added?  And where does the ID come from - e.g. _x0031_ for LaserRepository under VM11.

I turned on the debug as you instructed and tried the connect button once more. It generated a bunch of messages.  I have attached the log file below for your perusal.

Hi Ryan,

The issue seems to be that the SocialBPMIDList section does not get updated regardless of whether I add or remove repositories through the .xml file.  Any ideas why that is happening?

Can you confirm what version of Discussions is installed? 

The Discussions pane integration is only supported with version 10 of Laserfiche Discussions. The log shows that Web Access sent the appropriate request to the Discussions server, and that Discussions returned a 404 error. This could be indicative of a few things, but the most common cause is failing to upgrade Discussions from 9.2 to 10. 

Other things to check:

• Firewall settings (which shouldn't be relevant since it sounds like all LF products are on the same machine)
• Discussions can connect to SQL
• Port issues (is Discussions using a port other than 80 or 443?)

Thanks for the additional suggestions. You were correct on the first one. Both VMs that were not working were still on SocialBPM 9.2; therefore, I have upgraded both to version 10.  However, I still get an error message when trying to connect to the SocialBPM URL from the WebAccess configuration page.  The error code is "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. More details"

In terms of your second suggestion, yes Discussions can connect to SQL Server. When I am in the Discussions connection page, when I hit the refresh button, it brings up a full list of all the LF DBs I have created in the SQL Server. I hope that's proof enough that it can connect to SQL.

As for your third suggestion, how do I find out if Discussions is indeed using port 80 or 443?  Is there a config file that I have to view to do this?

As additional information, on VM11 where the integration works fine, I noticed that the statement in the WebAccessConfig.xml file is True for SocialBPMSettings Enabled while on the VM6 where the integration is not working, this statement is equal to False.  And as I stated before, on VM11 (working VM), there is an actual entry listed beneath the section called SocialBPMIDList while on VM6 (non working VM), there is no entry underneath it. Could this be causing the connection failure?  Thanks.

Can you reproduce the issue and attach another log? I'm interested in getting more information about this 500 error.
