asked on February 24, 2016

I get the error below when IA is set to OCR. Trying to figure out what is setup wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

IA Version 9.0.0.464

There was an error OCRing the file "\\test.net.ou.com\ESFS\File_Transfers\FA Laserfiche Import\Scanned\test.tif". (Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))).

Since your retrieving folder is on a network location, make sure the service account that IA is running have access to it.  This is why you are getting the Access Denied error.  If you are not running a service account for IA, then you need to share the folder so IA would have access to it with full control.

I check what security the user running the Import Agent service, and it has full control of the folders and files in the directory the profile is looking at. The agent will pick up the files and put them in the repository it just can not OCR them. Open to any idea. Thanks for your help.

Hi Eric,

Normally, if assign the full control to the folders and files in the directory, it should be OCRed successfully.

What about your OCR settings? DCC or local OCR? How to see the configuration is attached. Could you please try it on your local machine and import it again? Thanks.

Local OCR. Attached image foreground has settings. Background has and error in the event log from a few minutes ago.

Per your case, I would suggest you are better to open a support case for further troubleshooting.

Thanks,
