Question

Approve/Reject Buttons Display

asked on February 24, 2016 Show version history

Hello, we currently have several approval processes in place where we are having the users to right-click on a folder/file to open the metadata, then to look for the field for approvals, change the field value (selection field) in order to move the workflow process forward.

Since we are getting complaints from the users that it involves too many steps, we are hoping to find a way to simplify this into a one-click of a button step.

Is there a way to populate two buttons under "Customize Toolbar" for WebAccess, let's say, one is being named Approved and the other one is Rejected, each button is tied a particular Metadata field value, if the user clicks Approved, a field value is changed to Approved and workflow will move forward as defined.

You could write two separate business processes in Workflow, one called 'Approve' and another called 'Reject'. The only thing the process would do is detect the opened entry and set that metadata value to the correct value. You could then add these business processes to the Web Access tool bar so they are easily accessible.
