Download submitted form on Mobile App

asked on February 23, 2016 Show version history

I am attempting to download and save a copy of a submitted form which is being submitted using the Laserfiche Mobile app on an iPad.  My problem is when I click the download button, I get an error message, "Unexpected error occurs."  Has anyone tried this?

Hello Glenn,

If you were to drag the menu on the left, then go into Settings > Version, what is the full version of your Application? It should be in the format of X.x.x.xxx.

Also is this issue only seen on your ipad? do other devices have this issue?

Are you able to recreate this same error by using the mobile web browser?

Hello Andrew,

The version of the Mobile app I am using is 10.0.0.618, Laserfiche Mobile Server is 10.0.0.282, and Laserfiche Forms is 10.0.0.1154.  If I access the form and submit it using Safari, it does open the completed form in a new browser tab and I have the option to open the form in iBooks, thus allowing me to save an offline copy of the form.

What I am trying to accomplish is moving our daily DOT truck inspections from paper forms to Laserfiche forms.  Once the form is submitted, they must retain a copy of the daily inspection in the truck if they are stopped by a police officer or DOT official.

Hello Glenn,

I am unable to reproduce your issue, and I have tried with multiple varying Forms Servers. Would you be able to contact your reseller to open a support case? That way we can look more into the details of it. Also do you note any errors within your Forms Server within the Events logs? For Forms 10, they will be located under "Applications and Services Logs" > LFForms. See if you note any relavance in the timing of the errors in respect to when users are submitting forms.

But in any case as mentioned, please open a support case so we can look into the issue in further details.

EDITED: for information purposes, is your Mobile Server and Forms server on the same machine?

Regards and thank you

Yes, the Mobile server and Forms server are on the same machine.  I will contact my VAR to open a support case.  Just an FYI, I am seeing a warning and an error in the event logs.  The error simply states "The requested page is no longer available." and "Function: Error".  The warning is as follows:

Hey Glenn,

We found an issue in which when you place the forms server and the mobile server on the same machine, there will be an issue with downloading the submitted form. Unfortunately at this time, our workaround is to suggest you to have your forms server and mobile server on two difference machines. But for now please start a support case so that when the issue is addressed, you will be notified.

Regards, and my apologies for the inconvenience.
