Question

Excel file last modified date not working in LFC

asked on February 19, 2016 Show version history

We use Excel 2013. We use LF Cloud with the Client Desktop Version 9.2

We can save an Excel file outside of LF. When we do, it automatically updates as of the current date & time.

When we save an Excel file inside of LF, no updating occurs.  F.Y.I., the file in LF does not have any Metadata associated with it. We do use Version control. However, if I am not certain a file saved inside of LF, I look at the last modified date. I specifically look at the minute time stamp before closing the file as I do not want to spend two hours on a spread sheet and lose the work.  Having lost enough files (both WORD & EXCEL), our work around for uncertain saving is to save the file on the PC's Drive 'D'. Then we drag and drop that file into LF.

What can we do to resolve this problem?

Hi Michael,

I tested this in version 9.2 but wasn't able to reproduce the issue. I saved an excel file as a new version in Laserfiche and both the Electronic File Last Modified Date and the Laserfiche Last Modified Date were updated. Have you tried refreshing the Client right after you save the file?
