I have Avante 10 and I want to add more than 1 DCC worker, to process my thousands of documents that are not OCR.

I have been told there is a limit of only one worker computer.  When is this limit going to be changed?  I need to OCR a lot of documents.

At the moment Avante is limited to one DCC worker node. Rio customers have the option of deploying 10 DCC worker nodes. I've forwarded your request to the attention of our licensing decision-makers, but if this is an urgent issue then your best bet is to ask your VAR to get in contact with Laserfiche sales to explain your need.

Your suggestion to get in contact with LaserFiche sales, would mean I would need to purchase RIO, a more expensive software. Is this what you are suggesting?

No, I wasn't suggesting that you purchase Rio. I was suggesting that your VAR (reseller) could pass on your request to have more than one DCC worker node to a Laserfiche sales representative to make the case more directly with our sales and licensing department.

Laserfiche Answers is more of a technically-oriented Q&A forum, and situations that the current licensing model don't ideally addressed are often more effectively resolved through direct requests to a sales representative. These representatives are in a better position to resolve these issues, which don't always involve additional purchases.

As Michael notes, Laserfiche Avante is currently limited to one DCC worker node, primarily so that OCR functionality can be performed through Web Access and Workflow (which require using DCC). If that isn't sufficient for your needs, you can also run a search for your documents to process in the Laserfiche Client, select them all, and run the generate text process from there - it doesn't need to be done one by one.
