Screen tearing in Web Access 10 dialogue boxes

asked on February 17, 2016 Show version history

We have been getting screen/text tearing in dialogue boxes in Web Access 10. I've noticed it in the Import Document, Advanced Search as well as the Start Business Process dialogue boxes. Has anyone seen it before? Below is an example. Note the text at the top is blurry and the input field borders are torn.

Here's a higher fidelity version.

This issue was reported from a few different sources and there were a few different resolutions, but this issue should be fixed in the Web Access 10.1 release. If you notice this issue still on 10.1, please update the post accordingly so we can investigate further.

Browser bug?

posted on February 17, 2016

That seems like a rendering bug in the browser, which one are you using?

Also- is there high latency between the browser and Web Access?

This issue has been reported before (SCR134739), but we've had a hard time reproducing it in development.

I found out that it only happens in Chrome (version 48, but haven't tried others). On a hunch, I disabled hardware acceleration from the settings page and that resolved the issue. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks for the information, that's interesting.  I've seen similar reports elsewhere (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3gmavx/screen_tearing_on_google_chrome/) but nobody can seem to agree if the problem is with the browser, OS, or graphics card.
